Who I am
I like understanding things at a fundamental level and solving difficult problems. For this reason, I chose to study Mathematics and Computer Science. Mathematics is rigorous, formal and gets to the root of the things which I love. While in CS computers stop being a black box and start becoming something I can truly understand.
In CS my main interest is AI/ML. I am currently a research assistant at my home university at the Minerva Research Group where I work on attribute selection algorithms. Apart from AI, I also enjoy learning about low-level topics such as computer architecture, operating systems or computer networks. I have also participated on several Competitive Programming competitions, both regional and national.
On the mathematics side, I started being an Algebra fan, then switched to Analysis and later returned to Algebra. Looking back, this probably coincides with whichever branch had the best professors each year. I admit this is a bit ambiguous, but if it was a life-or-death question I would probably say Analysis (Sorry Algebra fans).
If I had to describe myself with three words, they would be: Curious (My favourite thing is learning), hard-working (If you do something, you should do it well) and passionate (There is no point in doing things if you are not passionate about them).
